Description
Digital Circlism is an art technique invented by Ben Heine in 2010, blending Pop Art and Pointillism. The style involves creating portraits and other images using only flat, digitally rendered circles of varying sizes and colors. Heine uses larger circles in lighter areas and smaller circles in darker areas to create a sense of volume and a 3D effect. This specific artwork is a well-known example of his Digital Circlism series, often featuring celebrity portraits, in this case, Marilyn Monroe.
Beyond even that, this lenticular portrait appears to come alive as you walk past it (the effect not really captured well by my camera lens), viewing it from various angles. This is a fantastic piece of eye-catching, conversation-starting, modern pop art.
