1940s – 1950’s Edwardsville Pennsylvania Beer Crate
This is a vintage beer crate from Edwardsville, Pennsylvania in the greater Wilkes Barre area. It is sold wood with metal reinforced corners. The crate is brown with black writing on all four sides and is in wonderful condition given its age, with just the absolutely perfect amount of wear to give it that beautiful period look. The same goes for the bottles, which remain dusty as well, as I have had zero intention of removing that desired aged appearance.
This was, of course, manufactured for every day working purposes but now has earned its place to sit proudly as a piece of historical decor.
Bartels brewing was located at Plymouth Street & Toby’s Creek, Edwardsville, PA
Bartels Brewing Co. ran from 1898-1920 and shut down during Prohibition in 1920. Bartels Brewing Co. started back up again in 1933 and continued operating until 1968.
17″ by 12 3/4″ and is 10 3/4″ tall.
