Description
The fabrics feature classic 1980s dark navy blue with cream/pink floral vines, a cream calico with tiny blue and rust sprigs, and a medium blue background featuring a geometric grid of small starbursts and a tan paisley print.
The backing shows a beautiful custom design featuring a diagonal rail fence accent strip, an appliquéd flower, and a handwritten label that reads “To Dale, neighbors by chance, friends by choice… celebrating the warmth of friendship. M.A. Johnson, 1988.” This indicates the quilt is a unique, sentimental heirloom piece rather than a mass-produced product.
The cotton fibers show very minimal wear, fraying, or seam separation, indicating excellent care over the years. There is some browning on the back from age.
The “country cottage blue” theme and calico fabrics are highly sought after for those rustic, grandmillennial, or farmhouse interior design styles.
