Vintage (1950’s) Retro EVERLAST Hammer Forged Aluminum Lid – Botanical Pea Pod Design

$10.00

Description

Aluminum gift-ware became fashionable in the 1930’s when many Americans couldn’t afford finer metals. Everlast Metal Products Corp of New York was one of the major manufacturers of high quality aluminum gift-ware. This company was formed in 1932 by Louis Schnitzer and Nathan Gelfman, brothers-in-law, who had been experienced metal workers in Russia. They began producing high quality hand-forged aluminum houseware products. After struggling to remain in business through the 1950’s, with the now popular Tupperware taking the interest of consumers, they closed their doors in 1961.

This is a gorgeous lid with excellent vintage retro appeal. It looks both rugged and delicately ornate. The pea pod shaped handle is double riveted to the lid. Add a bit of flair to your serving area with this super cool piece of kitchenware.

If interested, there are many other complimenting hammer forged aluminum pieces that I have.

5.75” Wide. In very good condition.
