So many dishes have back stamps and it is really interesting when you understand the symbology because it tells a story. Here is a little explanation of what you see on the back of these dishes.
The Number “51”: The number 51 printed in the center commemorates the year 1751, which is when the Worcester Porcelain Company was originally founded by Dr. John Wall. It is a permanent fixture of Royal Worcester’s standard factory mark rather than the year your specific dish was made.
The Crown: The way the crown sits flush against the top of the circular monogram indicates a modern post-1876 standard factory alignment.
The Registered Trademark symbol Ⓡ: The inclusion of the Ⓡ symbol beneath the monogram shows this specific backstamp variation was utilized for modern production lines, placing the manufacture of these Alpine Flowers trinket dishes in the 1960s to 1970s making them mid-century vintage.
