Description
Brutalist/1980s style modeled after a medium sized gift package with a draped ribbon or scarf.
As you probably know, Jaru ceramics have become highly collectible, and none so much as this heavy concrete box with a pitted finish and burnished gold carved bow wrapping the whole sculpture up. Condition is quite good — with some light wear. This is a special piece, also a practical one, which would make a great jewelry box, a decorative urn for a loved one’s ashes, or even a cigarette box on a coffee table. Created in the early 80’s the brutalist style is reminiscent of Hollywood Regency. Maker’s marks are on the bottom in the form of original tag and manufacturing tag.
