Let me tell you about this historical plate because it is fun to know.
The Pattern: Officially known as Line #725 (and sometimes referred to as Munsell). It is a classic American Depression glass pattern manufactured primarily during the 1930s. It features a distinctive octagonal paneled rim with an inner ribbed optic line radiating from the center ring toward each corner point.
Distinctive Handles: While standard dinnerware pieces in the line are simple octagons, the serving items feature very flat, stylized open geometric handles with a subtle inward curve.
Colorway: This vibrant, translucent shade is their classic Ruby Red. Imperial also produced the Molly pattern in pink, light green, yellow, clear, and amberina.
Maker’s Mark: Like most true Depression-era glasswares, these pieces were not marked or signed with a backstamp by the factory.
There are no chips or cracks or breaks or repairs. Being that this plate is almost 100 years old, there are light surface scratches from use. I can only imagine the stories those scratches could tell from dinner conversations overheard.
