Standing at 30″ tall – this immaculate vintage statue of Guanyin. Who is Guanyin? She is a Chinese goddess of mercy and compassion in Buddhist mythology. She is also known as Avalokiteshvara in India and Kannon in Japan. Guanyin is a bodhisattva, which is a sentient being who has achieved enlightenment but chooses to remain on Earth to help others. She is said to be all-seeing and all-hearing, and is often called upon by people in times of fear, despair, or uncertainty per that system of belief.
This statue is in fantastic conditiand and has been with this family for many years. She is just one item of almost everything in this 14,000 square foot home that is for sale.
