This is a near antique Imari Japanese scalloped fine porcelain dish featuring flourishes of still vibrant cobalt blue and iron red with flowers. The dish has a scalloped border and foot rim.
What is Imari (also called Imari ware)?
Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Arita ware (Arita-yaki) Japanese porcelain made in the area of Arita, in the former Hizen Province, northwestern Kyūshū.
